Nokia N900

Nokia has announced that it plans to start selling the new Nokia N900 in Southeast Asia during March 2010.

Running on the new Maemo 5 software, the Nokia N900 comes with the ARM Cortex-A8 processor, up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration.

Users can have dozens of application windows open and running simultaneously while taking full advantage of the cellular features, 3.5-inch touch screen and full physical slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

All running content is constantly available through the dashboard. The panoramic homescreen can be fully personalised with favorite shortcuts, widgets and applications.

The browser is powered by Mozilla technology, so Web sites should look the way they would on any computer, and online videos and interactive applications are supported with Adobe Flash 9.4.

It also has a built-in 32GB storage that can store up to 7,000 songs or 40 hours of DVD-quality video. Additional storage is available through an external microSD card.

Pictures and videos taken with the 5-megapixel Carl Zeiss camera automatically show where they were taken, and users can add their own description tags.

Also, for photography, the Maemo software and the N900 come with a new tag cloud user interface that will help users get the most out of the camera and Carl Zeiss optics.

SMS and instant messages are also organised as chat flow and people can switch between the multiple conversation windows.
